A former WCW wrestler just joined Pro Football Hall of Fame class
Pro wrestling and pro football have intersected many times through the years. On Saturday, one of the gridders who spent time in the squared circle was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Kevin Greene was a sack monster during his 15-year career with the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers and San Franciscco 49ers. He rang up 160 sacks during his career, most by a linebacker and third overall in the category.
Greene also spent some time in WCW — aka World Championship Wrestling. Greene had a program with Steve "Mongo" McMichael in the late '90s. He also returned to WCW and teamed with Bill Goldberg.
Greene was forced to exit when a "no-wrestling" clause was put into his football contracts.
For one day, however, WCW lives again. Sort of.
