NEW YORK (AP) Texas first baseman Trever Adams, Toronto right-hander Andrew Case, Cleveland right-hander Jordan Dunatov and free agent right-hander Dan Urbina have been suspended for 50 games each for violations of baseball's minor league drug program.
Adams tested positive for an amphetamine, a banned stimulant, and Dunatov and Urbina had second positive tests for a drug of abuse. Case was penalized for failing to take a drug test, the commissioner's office said Monday.
Adams, a 27-year-old on the roster of Double-A Frisco, hit .227 with 10 homers and 42 RBIs in 119 games last year at Frisco and Triple-A Round Rock.
Case, 23, was 3-4 with a 3.10 ERA in 39 games for two Class A teams last year. Dunatov, 23, spent all of last season on the disabled list. Urbina, 22 was 2-5 with a 6.99 ERA in 16 appearances for Class A Bristol last year, then was released by the Pittsburgh organization.
Nineteen players have been suspended this year for violations of the minor league program.
