Monday night's track at field events at the Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro were put on hold when storms rolled into the area. Discus throwers were in the middle of their competition when the wet weather began, causing many throwers to miss wildly. Some hudlers completed heats in the rain, and field hockey players in the Olympic Hockey Centre also got caught in the elements. Here are a few amazing images from Rio.

The rain eventually subsided and races resumed, but some Olympians had some trouble on the slick surface.
