VAL THORENS, France (AP) Marielle Thompson of Canada clinched her third straight skicross victory this season on the freestyle World Cup tour, while Marc Bischofberger of Switzerland earned a career first on Saturday.

Drizzle and fog in qualifying made way for blue skies when the competition started, and Thompson followed up her win on Friday despite qualifying in fourth place.

Sweden's Anna Holmlund finished second, and all-time skicross wins leader Ophelie David of France was third after leading through the course's middle section.

Thompson increased her lead in both the skicross and overall World Cup standings.

Meanwhile, Bischofberger made a late move to get past Frenchman Jonathan Midol, who finished second, and Canadian Brady Leman, who placed third.

Friday's race winner, Andreas Schauer of Germany, retained the overall lead.
