CANMORE, Alberta -- Olympic champion cross-country skier Chandra Crawford has retired.

The 30-year-old Canadian has been slowed by injuries in recent years and needed surgery on both legs a year after the 2010 Winter Games in Vancouver. She was eliminated in the first round of the sprints at the Sochi Olympics last month.

Crawford is a three-time Olympian who won the sprint at the 2006 Games. She also won seven World Cup medals, two of them gold.
