One of the most memorable moments from this year's Olympic Games in Rio came when Michael Phelps absolutely mean-mugged South African rival Chad Le Clos before a race. As Le Clos warmed up with a shadow boxing routine moments before the two approached the pool, cameras caught Phelps staring at his opponent with an angry glare that would go viral on social media and later be dubbed "Phelps Face."

As he delivered the venomous stare-down, Phelps was wearing headphones. During Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, the American swimmer finally revealed what song provided the soundtrack to Phelps Face. That honor belongs to Future, as Phelps told the crowd he was listening to "Stick Talk" shortly before introducing the Atlanta rapper at the awards show.

Future may not have won any VMAs for his work over the past year, but he did get to perform and learn that he inspired one of the year's most popular memes, so that's gotta count for something.
