Top marathoners Edna Kiplagat and Desiree Davila will run a 10-kilometer road race in New York City as they prepare for the London Olympics.
Kiplagat, Davila and reigning New York City Marathon champion Firehiwot Dado are among the professional runners entered in the 40th anniversary edition of the women's-only NYRR New York Mini 10K on June 9.
Kiplagat, from Kenya, is the reigning world champion in the marathon. Davila was the runner-up at the 2011 Boston Marathon and qualified for the London Games by finishing second at the U.S. Olympic trials in January.
