Two-time Olympic gold medalist Elena Kaliska won't defend her title at the London Games after she lost out on her country's only spot in the single kayak slalom.
Jana Dukatova clinched Slovakia's berth Sunday. Dukatova earned a trip to London by finishing second, ahead of Kaliska, at a World Cup competition in Cardiff, Wales.
If Kaliska had beaten Dukatova, the race for selection would have continued to Pau, France, next week.
The roles were reversed four years ago, when Dukatova missed out after losing to Kaliska.
