IOC to improve ticket sales process

The IOC is looking to improve the Olympic ticket sales process following irregularities in the distribution of tickets for the London Games.

IOC spokesman Mark Adams says a committee will examine how Olympic tickets are allocated to national Olympic committees and authorized agencies.

The panel will seek input from London organizers before making recommendations to the IOC executive board next year. Any changes will go into effect for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Adams says the panel will ''work out whether the shape of the overall process is the right one or whether we need to start again.''

The move comes as the IOC investigates allegations in Britain's Sunday Times newspaper that Olympic officials and agents in several countries offered London tickets on the black market.
