The IOC says it has sent a second letter to Iran's Olympic Committee warning it against government interference.
The Olympic body says it is urging Iran's Olympic Committee to observe the Olympic charter and act independently of the government.
Leaders of some national sports federations in Iran have reportedly been fired by the government recently.
In a statement on Friday, the IOC says it wants Iran's Olympic Committee to ''discuss with the relevant government authorities in order to ensure ... the principle of autonomy of the sports organizations belonging to the Olympic Movement.''
