General Motors Co. is paying to be the only U.S. auto advertiser during NBC's broadcast of the 2012 Olympic games in London.

GM said Tuesday it will promote Chevrolet and Cadillac heavily during the games, which run next year from July 27 through Aug. 12.

The company did not say how much it is paying for the exclusive rights.
