Former world discus champion Dani Samuels won her seventh consecutive Australian title on Sunday with her longest throw in two years.

The 23-year-old Samuels, who has been preselected for the London Olympics, had a mark of 204 feet, 6 inches. It was her best throw since a toss of 212-2 at a Doha Diamond League meet in Qatar in 2010.

Samuels became the youngest world champion in the discus in 2009 in Berlin. She finished ninth at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 10th at the world titles last year in Daegu, South Korea.

She took bronze at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, but refused to travel to New Delhi for the 2010 event due to health and security concerns.
