Switzerland's Olympic committee says it will back a joint bid from the luxury Alpine resorts of Davos and St. Moritz to host the 2022 Winter Games.
Swiss Olympic president Joerg Schild says it chose Davos-St. Moritz over Geneva because their proposal would have a better chance than a city-based bid.
Swiss officials had previously said they wanted a candidate capturing the magic of the mountains, similar to Norway's 1994 Winter Olympics host, Lillehammer. A formal Swiss bid needs to be approved by the country's sports federations next April.
Switzerland has an Alpine sports tradition and seeks to end what will be a 74-year wait for the Winter Games.
