Canada's Olympic Committee has a new CEO
Longtime speedskating official Jean R. Dupre has been appointed the new CEO of the Canadian Olympic Committee.
Dupre spent 15 years as director general of Speed Skating Canada. He replaces Chris Rudge, who resigned from the Olympic committee's top job last Thursday.
The committee also announced Monday that Chris Overholt would take over as chief operating and marketing officer. He's worked for the Toronto Raptors, Florida Panthers and Miami Dolphins.
The president-elect of the Canadian Olympic Committee, Marcel Aubut, said in a statement that Dupre and Overholt have ``unique skill sets and a strong passion for the sport.
``We have inherited a precious legacy from the 2010 Games, and wanted to ensure that both roles were filled by highly experienced professionals.''
