BEAVER CREEK, Colo. (AP) Brice Roger of France had the fastest time Friday in a downhill training run on a sun-splashed course at world championships.

Roger finished in 1 minute, 44.04 seconds. Norway's Kjetil Jansrud was second a day after banging his left shoulder on a gate, and Guillermo Fayed of France followed in third.

The men's downhill race is Saturday. Jansrud leads the discipline on the World Cup circuit and is the clear-cut favorite. Especially now that his shoulder is feeling better after he crashed through a gate during a super-G race.

Andrew Weibrecht had the fastest time for the U.S. He was fourth, 0.41 seconds behind Roger, whose best finish in a World Cup race is 10th during a downhill event in 2012.
