NAGANO, Japan (AP) Mao Asada of Japan will be aiming to build on her comeback at this weekend's NHK Trophy, while compatriot Yuzuru Hanyu looks for his first Grand Prix win of the season.

The NHK Trophy is the sixth and final event in the International Skating Union's Grand Prix series and is the last chance for skaters to qualify for the Dec. 10-13 Grand Prix Final in Barcelona.

After taking a year off competitive skating, Asada made her return at the Cup of China earlier this month. The three-time world champion won the event but admitted she has work to do after a third-place finish in the free skate.

Asada has always performed well at the NHK, winning the event four times.
