SOCHI, Russia (AP) A 52-year-old freestyle skier from Argentina has lost his legal bid to compete in the Sochi Olympics aerials event.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport says it dismissed Clyde Getty's appeal to be given an entry by the International Ski Federation.

CAS says the governing body wrongly allocated the Argentina Olympic body an entry place on Jan. 24. It was withdrawn the same day when the error was spotted.

The court panel says FIS was right to judge that Getty had not achieved the qualifying standard.

Getty hoped to compete in aerials at his third Winter Games. He placed 25th at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics and 28th in Turin four years later.
