Wild glad Koivu expected to return

Minnesota will certainly miss Mikko Koivu while he's out with a broken left index finger.

But the Wild are relieved their captain and first-line center is expected back before the end of the regular season.

The team is not putting a timetable on Koivu's return, but he does not need surgery. Koivu was hurt blocking a shot in last Friday's game against Anaheim.

Koivu said before Tuesday's game against Edmonton that he knew right away he had suffered a serious injury.

Coach Todd Richards says he'll move center Matt Cullen up to the first line to play with Andrew Brunette and Antti Miettinen. Richards says ''each guy has to take a little piece of that Koivu pie and divide it up equally and do their share.''
