Wild assign Jordan Schroeder to AHL

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) The Minnesota Wild have assigned center Jordan Schroeder to their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild.

The move was made Wednesday, after Schroeder cleared waivers.

The 25-year-old Schroeder had a decent first season with the Wild, tallying three goals and five assists in 25 games with a plus-9 rating after playing parts of the previous two years with Vancouver. But with the emergence of rookie Tyler Graovac during training camp, Schroeder was the odd forward out.

Schroeder, who grew up in the Twin Cities area and played for the University of Minnesota, was a first-round draft pick by the Canucks in 2009.
