Torey Krug proves he's really a Bostonian now

Published Aug. 17, 2015 11:45 a.m. ET

Although all sports are popular in Boston, there is nothing like the city's love for the Red Sox, and while Torey Krug plays hockey for the Bruins, he showed he is officially a Bostonian now by revealing the name of his new puppy.

Krug moved to Boston full-time this offseason, a pretty brave move for a man whose contract only goes through the end of the 2015-16 season. But both the move and the puppy show Krug seems determined to remain a Bruin.

The chances of a longer deal look good for Krug. The Bruins have an aging defense, and Krug has proven he can benefit the team both offensively and defensively in his two full seasons on the Boston blue line. Krug played in 78 games with the Bruins last season, posting 39 points (12 goals, 27 assists) and he is a career plus-30.
