Tampa Bay Lightning Vs. Vancouver Canucks: Live Thread For Game No. 28
The Tampa Bay Lightning have struggled quite a bit as of late thanks to a number of injuries to key players. Thankfully, the Lightning seem to have some luck shine on them before tonight’s game against the Vancouver Canucks. Could tonight be the night the Bolts turn things around?
The Tampa Bay Lightning have been forced to deal with much more than their fair share of injuries at this quarter point in the season. It seemed as if every single time someone would make their return to the Lightning lineup, yet another player would be headed to the sidelines.
Thankfully, the Tampa Bay Lightning seemed to have won the lottery tonight when it comes to good news. Before the Lightning take the ice to take on the Vancouver Canucks at the Amalie Arena here in the heart of the Bolts Nation, it was announced that Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin and defenseman Jason Garrison would both be making their return to the lineup.
The Lightning have continued to struggle defensively since Anton Stralman went down with an Upper-Body Injury. This was exasperated even further when Jason Garrison was sidelined with a Lower-Body Injury after taking a puck to the leg off the shot of Vladimir Tarasenko in the same game Stralman made his return.

Adding someone like Garrison back into the lineup tonight is sure to help solidify the Lightning’s blueline. Given the way the Bolts have been tossed around lately, it would definitely serve to have a gritty defenseman like Garrison on the ice to hold things down for the Bolts.
The Lightning took three of the four available points over their back-to-back weekend series. While this is definitely a good thing, the Lightning are going to have to improve their scoring prowess if they want to continue winning games this season. Hopefully, getting Drouin back in the lineup will help with that.
The Bolts are going with Ben Bishop between the pipes tonight. Bishop performed spectacularly this weekend, and as the old saying goes, when something it’s broken, don’t try to fix it.
The Lightning will definitely need someone like Bishop in net tonight as the other side of the ice will be held down by Canucks goalie Ryan Miller.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have had two days off in order to heal some of the nagging wounds that have been holding them back as of late. It will definitely be interesting to see what a rested, and much healthier, Lightning team has in store for fans tonight.
