Stars forward Jamie Benn has apologized to twins Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin of Vancouver for making an inappropriate remark during a radio interview.

After a radio host suggested the Sedin twins were roommates on road trips, Benn said, "Who knows what else they do together."

Dallas president Jim Lites said in a statement Wednesday that Benn had reached out to the Sedin twins to apologize. Lites said the team has "the utmost respect for the contributions the two have made to both the game and to their community."

The Stars and Canucks used to be division rivals but now play less frequently. The last of three matchups this season is March 28 at Vancouver. Dallas won the first two.

The radio interview was Monday.
