Stars activate Barch, Burish

Published Feb. 23, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

The Dallas Stars have activated Krys Barch and Adam Burish from the injured list after both forwards missed eight games because of facial injuries sustained in separate fights in the same game.

The Stars also Wednesday assigned center Aaron Gagnon to the Texas Stars of the AHL.

Barch had a scratched cornea and fractured orbital bone from the fight Feb. 3 at Boston. In that same fight-marred game, Burish also sustained a broken orbital bone.

Dallas plays at Central Division-leading Detroit on Thursday night.

The Stars led the Pacific Division before winning only two of their past 13 games. They have a five-game losing streak, dropping to last place in the division and to 11th place in the Western Conference.
