Drew Stafford had a goal and three assists as the Buffalo Sabres scored eight straight times to beat the Philadelphia Flyers 9-3 in an exhibition game Sunday.

The nine goals were the most scored by one team during the preseason.

Buffalo's Derek Roy scored two goals and added an assist. Jason Pominville added a goal and two assists while Jochen Hecht, Tyler Ennis and Tyler Myers each added a goal and an assist.

The Flyers went up 2-0 with goals by Dan Carcillo and Matt Walker before Buffalo's Cody McCormick started the streak when he scored from the slot at 13:02. Roy tied it 45 seconds later with a wrist shot high to Johan Backlund's stick side, and Nathan Gerbe scored at 17:22 on a power play. Myers gave Buffalo its fourth consecutive goal when he took a drop pass from Pominville, made a move on a defenseman and his wrist shot beat Backlund stick side at 5:46.

Roy scored his second on a rebound at 6:53, and Pominville made it 6-2 when he converted a pass from Tim Connolly into an open shot on the right side of the net at 9:01. Ennis scored 41 seconds later when he took a cross-ice pass from Roy and found the net, beating Backlund high on the glove side. Stafford then made it 8-2 when he split the Flyers' defense at 18:14.

Philadelphia's Mike Testwuide snapped the streak with a goal 49 seconds into the third period, while Hecht's goal at 4:40 completed the scoring.

Buffalo finished the preseason 4-2, while Philadelphia went 5-2-1.
