The Detroit Red Wings have signed 25-year-old forward Jamie Tardif to a one-year contract.

The team announced the deal Tuesday but did not disclose terms.

Tardif spent the last four seasons with the AHL Grand Rapids Griffins. In 2009-10, he scored 16 goals and had 17 assists. The Calgary Flames drafted the 6-foot, 205-pounder in the fourth round (112th overall) of the 2003 draft.
