Red Wings reacquire Frk, send him to minors

DETROIT (AP) The Detroit Red Wings have claimed forward Martin Frk off waivers from Carolina, and they assigned him Tuesday to Grand Rapids of the AHL.

Carolina claimed Frk off waivers from Detroit on Oct. 9, and he played in two games for the Hurricanes, making his NHL debut Oct. 18 at Edmonton. He spent the previous three seasons in Detroit's minor league system.

Frk was drafted in the second round in 2012 by the Red Wings.
