Craig Smith scored with 11 seconds left in overtime to lift the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night.

Bryan Allen scored for Carolina (1-4-1), breaking a scoreless tie at 3:38 of the third period. He took a wrist shot from above the left circle that beat Nashville goaltender Pekka Rinne to his glove side.

The Predators (7-1) tied the game at 1-1 at the 7:41 mark when Patric Hornqvist connected on the power play. He deposited a rebound from close range in front of the crease to beat Carolina goaltender Brian Boucher.

It was the fourth straight game that the Predators have scored on the power play.
