Patrice Bergeron's newest milestone knocks Cam Neely down a rung
Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron reached a new milestone on Tuesday night, as he scored a goal in the second period of the Bruins' game against the Montreal Canadiens to break what was at the time a 1-1 tie. The goal went down as the 591st point of Bergeron's career, helping him into sole possession of ninth place on the Bruins' list of all-time scoring leaders.
The tally knocked former Bruins player and current team president Cam Neely down to 10th place on the list, but Neely probably does not mind considering Bergeron's goal counted as the eventual game-winner in a 4-1 Bruins win.
Bergeron currently leads the team in scoring with 41 points (18 goals, 23 assists) in 45 games. The 30-year-old is now chasing Terry O'Reilly -- who finished his Bruins career with 606 points -- for eighth place on the list.
