Montreal coach Michel Therrien calls out goaltenders as Habs lose big again
With just over a week to go until the NHL Winter Classic, the Montreal Canadiens are in serious trouble. The Habs have been without star goaltender Carey Price since late November, and Montreal is just 2-8-0 in December without Price.
Things took a turn for the worse Monday when coach Michel Therrien publicly called out goaltenders Dustin Tokarski and Mike Condon after the team posted a 5-1 loss to the Nashville Predators Monday. Tokarski and Condon have shared the duties of filling in for the injured Price.

Condon and Tokarski split time in net Monday. Tokarski started the game but was pulled after allowing three goals on 14 shots. Condon stopped three of four shots in relief, and the Predators finished the Habs off with an empty-net tally with 2:05 left in the game.
The Canadiens have now lost four straight games and have been outscored, 17-4, in that time. With Price scheduled to be out until at least mid-January, the Canadiens need to find a way to win without him quickly.
"We need a better performance from goaltending, obviously,” Therrien told reporters. “Every goalie that we faced, right now, they end up having the first star."
