Minnesota Wild player accidentally takes a swing at his own teammate during scuffle

Hockey's a violent sport; we all know that. If you play the sport, you're basically resigned to taking a few punches and losing a few teeth here and there. It's all part of the gig.

But you usually don't expect to take licks from your own teammates.

Unfortunately for Zach Parise, he found himself in the line of friendly fire on Sunday in Minnesota. His Wild teammate Chris Stewart was attempting to tussle with Sharks winger Joel Ward after a whistle, but a sloppy attempt at a face-wash resulted in Stewart clocking Parise in the face with his glove.

If anyone was hoping that this would lead to a tense rift in the Wild locker room, they were severely disappointed just seconds later when pretty much everyone on the ice shared a nice chuckle over the total misfire on Stewart's part.

Parise should keep his guard up around Stewart, though. That guy might have a hidden agenda.
