Injured Canucks forward Raymond misses return

Published Dec. 1, 2011 10:22 p.m. ET

Mason Raymond missed his planned return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup on Thursday because of an issue with paperwork.

Raymond has already missed 24 games this season because of a back injury sustained in last season's playoffs.

''Paperwork with the league,'' was all a team spokesman would say when the Raymond didn't take the pregame skate before the Canucks played Nashville on Thursday night.

Raymond sustained a vertebrae compression fracture on June 13 when he was sent backward into the boards on a hit by Boston's Johnny Boychuck in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals.
