Earlier this week, word got out that Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin was having an eventful offseason.

It’s actually pretty remarkable what the Russian forward has accomplished since the New York Rangers eliminated the Pens in seven during Round 2 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Besides winning an IIHF championship with Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin and Team Russia, Malkin’s met with President Vladimir Putindone some fishing and attended the French Open.

And it doesn’t appear he has any plans to slow down.

Here’s the latest Malkin update, this one coming from under the sea. Clearly, Malkin swims in the face of danger (OK, it's a whale shark, but still):

For Penguins fans who had hopes of a deeper playoff run, maybe seeing Geno enjoying himself is -- in some way (maybe?) -- a small consolation prize.

But probably not.
