Flyers' Voracek on Gostisbehere: 'Three-on-three is built for him'

Philadelphia Flyers rookie defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere has excelled in overtime this season, so much so that forward Jakub Voracek was only too happy to sing his praises on Tuesday.

Joining a 2-on-1 rush, Gostisbehere accepted a backhanded feed from Voracek and beat Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Eddie Lack as the Flyers skated to a 4-3 victory on Tuesday. The sixth tally of the season was the 22-year-old Gostisbehere's third in overtime, joining then-Edmonton Oilers forward Andrew Cogliano (2007-08) as the last to accomplish the feat.

Carolina knows this all too well as it also saw Gostisbehere convert in overtime to give Philadelphia a 3-2 triumph on Nov. 23.

"Three-on-three is built for (Gostisbehere). He's a great skater, with a great shot. He's smart as well, so he knows when to jump in and what to do with the puck when he has it. That's why he is where he is right now and that's why he’s scoring those goals."

Gostisbehere's heroics have the Flyers (13-12-6) enjoying a 7-3-1 run heading into Thursday's tilt with the Vancouver Canucks (11-13-8).
