Eichel and McDavid to square off in March on NBCSN

Published Jul. 27, 2015 1:36 p.m. ET

On March 1, two NHL generational talents will face off against one another on national television for the first time ever.

Connor McDavid's Edmonton Oilers are set to play Jack Eichel's Buffalo Sabres on March 1 on NBCSN.

The matchup marks the first time the two will play one another on U.S. soil. The Sabres visit the Oilers in Edmonton at an earlier date on Dec. 6, however, that game won't be national televised within the U.S.

Barring any sort of injury, the two players will more than likely be the front runners for the Calder trophy as the league's top rookie.

In addition to the March 1 matchup, the Sabres will be featured in four other NBC matchups: Nov. 10 against the Tampa Bay Lightning on NBCSN, Jan. 25 against the New York Rangers on NBCSN, Feb. 21 against the Pittsburgh Penguins on NBC and March 28 against the Detroit Red Wings on NBCSN.
