Ducks waive well-traveled Clendening
Defenseman Adam Clendening didn't have a long stay with the Anaheim Ducks.
Clendening reportedly was placed on waivers by the Ducks on Tuesday, just 10 days removed from being acquired from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 23-year-old Clendening did not appear in a game during his short stint in Anaheim.
Clendening's services likely were not immediately needed with fellow defenseman Simon Despres returning from a three-month absence due to a concussion. Despres is expected to be in the lineup when the Ducks visit the Boston Bruins on Tuesday.

Blue-liner Cam Fowler, who is nursing a knee injury, is expected to be back in action following the All-Star break.
Logical move. Despres is back and Holzer is the 7th D right now. They'll hope he clears so he can be with AHL club. https://t.co/WTLlPJ3sXg

Clendening played nine games with the Penguins after being acquired with Nick Bonino and a second-round selection in the 2016 NHL draft during the offseason for forward Brandon Sutter and a third-round pick.
Clendening played in just nine games with Pittsburgh before being shipped to Anaheim with forward David Perron for the speedy Carl Hagelin earlier this month.
