Daniel Sedin scratched for Canucks

Published Dec. 15, 2011 12:00 a.m. ET

Vancouver Canucks left winger Daniel Sedin was scratched from Thursday night's game at Carolina because of a stiff back.

The team said Sedin would not play against the last-place Hurricanes because his back was stiff when he woke up.

Sedin leads the team with 34 points and has 22 goals, three behind twin brother Henrik for the club lead.

The reigning Western Conference champions recalled right winger Mark Mancari from their AHL affiliate in Chicago and inserted him into the lineup.
