Crosby takes slap shot off shin

Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby was seen wincing in pain and frustrated on the bench after blocking a shot during the second period of the Pittsburgh Penguins game Sunday against the Nashville Predators.
A centerpiece of the Team Canada Olympic roster, Crosby took a Kevin Klein slap shot off his right shin about seven minutes into the second period of the final game before the NHL Olympic break.
Crosby continued through his shift on an offensive rush, but lifted his leg in pain, went to the bench and sat with his head down for several minutes. During the next television timeout, Crosby tested his leg but appeared to do it gingerly and slammed his stick in apparent frustration.
However, Crosby did not miss a shift the remainder of the period and played on his first shift of the third period.
Team Canada is scheduled to open play against Norway in Vancouver on Tuesday.
