Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- One More To Go
Good morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The Chicago Blackhawks won their annual Black Friday afternoon game in Anaheim, and now today they are looking to finish the circus trip with a better than .500 record.
The Chicago Blackhawks finally tried a new script on Friday by picking up an early goal and then building on their lead in the 2nd period. Having a 3-0 lead late in the 2nd period looked like an easy victory for the Chicago Blackhawks.
Of course, nothing is easy with this version of the Chicago Blackhawks so of course they gave up a late 2nd period goal and a third period goal while getting a game tying goal waved off. So even though the script was different, the stress free win isn’t a thing this season.
One good thing about the trip is that the kids are getting better and getting a lot of experience, and one player that looks to be getting better is Ryan Hartman. Hartman was supposed to be the new Andrew Shaw, and now he’s starting to score a little more consistency. Hartman took a lucky bounce in the 2nd period and buried it above Josh Gibson’s glove.
One thing that was pretty obvious during the game was how much the Hawks need Jonathan Toews healthy if they want to win any faceoffs. The Hawks only won 27% of their faceoffs yesterday afternoon which is hard to believe. Get will Toews quickly because that number is ludicrous.
The trip ends tonight after the Hawks head to LA to faceoff against the LA Kings. The Hawks are 3-3 heading to LA so this game swings the balance to winning trip or a trip that the Chicago Blackhawks youngsters survived. I vote for winning, but we shall see how it turns out tonight.
