Chicago Blackhawks Morning Links- Happy Labor Day

Published Jun. 30, 2017 6:28 p.m. ET

Good Morning Chicago Blackhawks fans! The last summer three day weekend is here and the official end of the longest summer ever (since 2011) is finally coming to an end!

I know when I was a kid Labor Day was the three day weekend we got after going to school our first week, but now the kids go to school so early it feels like we are a month into school and now we get a three day weekend.

These days it really doesn’t matter for me personally if it’s holiday weekend after working in retail for 21 years there is no such thing as a holiday weekend since those our our busiest weekends.  So while most people are enjoying their weekend I’ll be laboring tomorrow morning.

That being said when it’s the last weekend of summer you have to be excited about the Chicago Blackhawks getting back on the ice.  This summer has been long and hot and now that we are starting to see some cooler weather it’s time to get excited about the Chicago Blackhawks because it’s Labor Day!!

I’m still worried about two things which are major instead of minor like they usually are this time of year for the Chicago Blackhawks.  One being who is going to play with Jonathan Toews on the top line,  Are we really going to watch Richard Panik all season long with The Captain?

Secondly, is who is going to step up and fill the bottom six roles in the youth of the Blackhawks prospects.  If a player or two make a huge leap forward the season could end up with another long run in the playoffs, but if no one makes a jump it could be a long season for the Hawks with another early playoff exit.
