The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed defenseman Aaron Rome to a two-year contract extension.

Financial terms were not disclosed Tuesday, but the 26-year-old would have been eligible to become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Signed by the Canucks as a free agent last summer after playing just 26 NHL games over his first five pro seasons, Rome played 49 games with four assists.
