The Montreal Canadiens will have two assistant general managers after hiring Rick Dudley on Friday.

Dudley will team with Larry Carriere, who received a contract extension to remain as assistant GM. The announcements were made by new general manager Marc Bergevin.

Dudley, a former coach and player, has spent the last two decades as an NHL executive with several clubs, including Atlanta, Florida, Tampa Bay, Ottawa and Chicago. Dudley was Toronto's director of player personnel last season.

He played seven seasons with the Buffalo Sabres and Winnipeg Jets.
