Calgary Flames Daily: Post-Game Win, Practicing at Central Park
Good afternoon Calgary Flames fans on this cold day in Calgary. The Flames were practicing at Central Park earlier today where it wasn’t as cold.
With the exciting overtime win last night and the Calgary Flames practicing at Central Park earlier today, how could we not be excited? The Flames had a fun overtime win against the New Jersey Devils last night to fight their way back into a (temporary) playoff spot. This is their third straight win after going on a four-game losing streak.
A name that has been circulating around lately is Sean Monahan, who scored one goal last night and is now one goal away from 100. If he scores another goal sometime before this season ends, he’ll be the youngest Flame in franchise history to reach 100 goals. The 22 year-old also has 11 points in his last 10 games and has the most goals in the league since January 13th, with nine.
On to other exciting things, but the Flames were practicing at Central Park earlier this morning. Apparently Mr. Johnny Gaudreau, being the trouble-making-kid that he is, showed up late. In a taxi. Dressed in his full equipment. The idea of Johnny Hockey riding in a taxi completely decked out in his Flames gear is hilarious to me.
But because he was late, does this mean he’ll be a scratch in tomorrow’s game against the New York Rangers? The Flames haven’t said anything about this, so let’s all cross our fingers that everything’s fine. Maybe he was just visiting family or something (hopefully). That first line with Sean Monahan has definitely been explosive as of late and finally contributing, so they’ll need Gaudreau in the lineup. He’s also currently on a four-game point streak.

Calgary Flames forward Sean Monahan had a bit of a slow start to his season. However, he definitely picked up his game late November-early December. Let’s take a look at him halfway through the season.

Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau of the Calgary Flames had slow starts to their season. Much like the rest of the team. Thankfully, they’ve almost done a complete 180 and have turned their seasons around.

Calgary Flames forward Sean Monahan didn’t have the season he was hoping or that everyone was expecting. However, he looks like he might be gaining his confidence back.
