B's rookie scores between-the-legs backward goal you HAVE to see

Anything Vladimir Tarasenko can do, Seth Griffith can do . . . better?

Griffith, the Bruins' 21-year-old rookie center, became the latest player to throw his name into the Goal of the Year discussion, pulling off an amazing, spinning, no-look, between-the-legs goal Monday night. What's more, the play started when Griffith blocked a shot then used his speed to beat two New Jersey defenders, and ended when he used his dexterity to beat goalie Cory Schneider.

Oh, and the score broke a 2-2 tie in the second period and paved the way for a 4-2 Bruins win.

And despite all the hyphens and superlatives used above, no description can do the goal justice. In case you need another look, here you go:

"I knew if I got it on net, something good might happen," Griffith told the media after the game.

The play got a big cheer from the sold-out TD Garden crowd — and an even bigger one when it was replayed on the scoreboard and fans could see in slow motion what had happened.

Of course, not everyone in the building was impressed.

"The (Bruins') third goal was a highlight goal. But it was kind of lucky, too, when you look at it," said Devils forward Jaromir Jagr, who scored for New Jersey to tie Mike Gartner for sixth in NHL history with 708 career goals. "To score between the legs, it's not going to happen again."

The nifty score comes a week after Tarasenko, the flashy, 22-year-old Blues forward, turned in a pair of dazzlers. But are they better than Griffith's goal?
