Bruins' Zac Rinaldo blasts ref for way he 'cranked me down pretty hard'
Boston Bruins forward Zac Rinaldo was placed on injured reserve on Dec. 15 after suffering an upper body injury in a loss to the Edmonton Oilers last Monday, and according to Rinaldo, the referees in the game might have played a role in the injury.
Rinaldo recently told CSN NE that linesman David Brisebois used extra force against him when separating Rinaldo and Oilers forward Matt Hendricks following a scrum during that game.
Via CSN NE:
The injury seems to have healed, as Rinaldo is expected to return from IR in time for the Bruins' game on Tuesday against the Blues.
Rinaldo, a depth forward, has two points in 26 games this season for the Bruins. He ranks second on the team with 53 penalty minutes, one minute behind Brad Marchand's team-leading 54 PIM.
"He was trying to keep me down, so I wouldn’t get up,” Rinaldo said to CSN NE. “I was coming up, and he cranked me down pretty hard."
