Chad Johnson made 18 saves and Carl Soderberg scored both goals to lead the Boston Bruins over the Detroit Red Wings 2-0 in a preseason game Saturday night.

Boston (3-1-0) continued its strong exhibition season after coming up short in the Stanley Cup finals last season, losing in six games to the Chicago Blackhawks.

Jonas Gustavsson stopped 12 shots for Detroit (2-2-0) in the first two periods. Petr Mrazek made seven saves in the third.

Soderberg opened the scoring with 1:04 left in the second period when he put a loose puck in from the bottom of the left circle for his first goal of the preseason. His second came on the power play off a rebound in front of the net only 41 seconds into the third.
