Bruins rookie Frank Vatrano tries hand at manning the family restaurant
Boston Bruins rookie Frank Vatrano has proven he has what it takes to score goals at the NHL level, but does he have what it takes to make a pizza? The East Longmeadow, Mass. native took the EPIX Road to the Winter Classic cameras home with him to his family's pizzeria to show his skills in the kitchen, and it seems like his family does not have a ton of confidence in him in the kitchen.
"You may be good on the ice but you're not good in the shop," Vatrano's father, Greg Vatrano, told him in a clip from the TV series.
While Vatrano was busy manning the ovens, his father proudly showed off a stack of pucks honoring Frank's achievements on the ice ranging from his first collegiate goal from November of 2014 to his first NHL hat trick, which came on Dec. 18, 2015 in a 6-2 win over the Penguins.
Vatrano, like all NHL rookies, has had his ups and downs this season, and he has not recorded a point since scoring that hat trick back in December. The 21-year-old has six points (five goals, one assist) through 24 games this season.
There is no statistic available on how many pizzas Vatrano has made so far this season, but it looks like he could use a little practice, as his pepperoni pie came out a little misshapen.
