The Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins have re-signed defenseman Adam McQuaid to a three-year contract extension that would keep him in the fold through the 2014-15 season.

The Bruins also signed minor league forward Craig Cunningham to an entry-level contract, and defenseman Zach McKelvie to a one-year deal.

McQuaid, 24, played in 67 games in his first full season with Boston, scoring three goals with 12 assists and 96 penalty minutes. His rating of plus-30 was best among rookies and fifth overall in the NHL.

McQuaid had four points and 14 penalty minutes in 23 games as the Bruins won their first Stanley Cup title since 1972.
