Bruins GM denies rumors regarding coach Claude Julien's job security

Published Oct. 19, 2015 1:03 p.m. ET

Oddsmakers and newspaper columnists alike have cast doubt on Bruins coach Claude Julien's potential to keep his job, but Bruins GM Don Sweeney continues to deny rumors that the coach is on the hot seat.

NESN reported during Saturday's broadcast of the Bruins' game against Arizona that Sweeney had shot down any talk about firing Julien and told NESN, "There is no such thing happening within the organization and that these talks were not happening internally."

The rumors about Julien possibly being fired imminently have calmed down as the Bruins swept a two-game road trip to Arizona and Colorado to move to 2-3-0 on the season. However, the lack of confidence in this Bruins team among the fanbase is sure to keep Julien's job security a trending topic whenever the team struggles.
