Ben Scrivens pays tribute to late Motorhead vocalist with cool new mask
After goaltender Ben Scrivens was traded to the Montreal Canadiens on Dec. 28, he needed a new mask to match his new bleu, blanc et rouge uniform, and Scrivens decided to let the mask serve a dual purpose. In addition to using the Canadiens' iconic C as the main design, Scrivens had an image of late Motorhead vocalist Lemmy Kilmister painted on the side of the helmet.
Kilmister passed away on Dec. 28 -- the same day Scrivens was traded -- from an extremely aggressive form of cancer. He was 70 years old and had just been diagnosed with cancer two days before his death.
Scrivens has played in two games so far with the Canadiens and is 0-2-0 with seven goals against. Perhaps his new mask will bring him more luck in net.
