Aaron Rodgers was going to buy an NHL team had he won Powerball

BY foxsports • January 14, 2016

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is in the midst of a five-year, $110 million contract, but that didn't stop the Super Bowl XLV champion from, like many Americans (and American athletes), dreaming of what he would do if he won the $1.5 billion Powerball jackpot.

Though after confirming to reporters Wednesday that he bought Powerball tickets, Rodgers revealed an interesting business plan if he were to win the jackpot.

"Buy an NHL team," he said via OnMilwaukee.com with a grin.

Though he didn't specify which NHL team, Rodgers has claimed his hockey allegiances remain in Green Bay.

The Green Bay Gamblers are a junior hockey team from the United States Hockey League composed of players who have yet to begin their college or professional careers. The team is 19-10-2 this season, good for third place in the USHL's Eastern Conference.
